Defending champion Chen Long secured his third successive victory at the Dubai World Superseries Finals on Friday to sail into the weekend's semi-finals.
The Chinese shuttler maintained his winning form with a 21-14, 21-17 win over Jan Jorgensen, the world number two from Denmark.
Like Chen, Jorgensen had also already secured his place in the semi-finals, and according to Chen, both men "enjoyed themselves out there."
The remaining two competitors from Group A, Tian Houwei and Hu Yun, had only pride to play for in their final round robin match, having both already been eliminated.
Tian ensured his season ended on a winning note as he triumphed 21-19, 21-10.
It was a similar story in Group B, as leaders Kento Momota of Japan and Denmark's Viktor Axelsen squared off knowing they had both already qualified for the knock-out stages.
Both men put their unbeaten records on the line, and it was Momota who was able to maintain his momentum, coming from a game down to record a 19-21, 21-15, 21-15 victory.
Also squaring off were Group B's K Srikanth of India and Chinese Taipei's Chou Tien Chen, with the victory going to Chen by a margin of 21-17, 21-13.
