Locals dominate China Open qualifying

Chinese players dominated badminton's qualifying rounds in the men's and women's Thaihot China Open on Tuesday.

In men's singles matches, China's Qiao Bin beat Taiwan's Tzu Wei Wang 21-15, 21-18 while Ren Pengbo of China hammered Egypt's Abdelrahman Kashkal 21-3, 21-9.

China's Zhu Siyuan cruised past Ali Ahmed El Khateeb of Egypt 21-7, 21-10 and Zhou Zeqi and his countryman took 31 minutes to get past Scotland's Alistair Casey 21-8, 21-18.

Haichao Lui of China beat Indonesia's Wibowo Kho Henrikho 21-12, 21-17 while Shi Yuqi beat favoured Chinese countryman Huang Yuxiang 21-12, 18-21, 21-10 in 56 minutes.

In all Chinese clashes, Qiao Bin cruised past Ren Pengbo 21-16, 21-9 and Guo Kai won a three-game battle against Zhu Siyuan 14-21, 22-20, 21-16 in 57 minutes. Zhou Zeqi beat Wu Xim 21-17, 21-14 while Shi Yuqi got past Haichao Lui 21-19, 21-18.

In women's qualifying matches, Taiwan's Chen Hsiao Huan beat Li Wenmei of China 15-21, 21-18, 21-15 in 57 minutes and a bit later in her second qualifying match Huan got past Egypt's Doha Hany 21-4, 21-6.

In and all Chinese battle, Chen Xiaoxin beat Hui Xirui 21-11, 16-21, 21-16 in 60 minutes.
