Zhang and Zhao cruise in mixed doubles

Mixed doubles top seeds Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei reached the second round of the Thaihot China Open after getting past Phillip Chew and Jamie Subandhi on Wednesday.

The Chinese pair hammered their American opponents 21-12, 21-10 in 23 minutes.

In other mixed doubles matches, China's Huang Kaixiang and Huang Dongping worked hard to beat Liao Min Chun and Chen Hsiao Huan 21-15, 17-21, 21-18 while, in a big upset, German duo Michael Fuchs and Birgit Michels beat second-seeded Indonesians Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir 21-19, 22-20.

Seventh seeds Ko Sung Hyun and Kin Ha Na of South Korea has little trouble defeating Indonesia's Markis Kido and Pia Zebadiah Bernadeth 21-10, 21-12 and Chinese fourth seeds Lui Cheng and Bao Yixin beat Japan's Keigo Sonoda and Naoko Fukuman 21-8, 19-21, 21-7.

Hong Kong duo Lee Chun Hei Reginald and Chau Hoi Wah beat Malaysia's Chan Peng Soon and Goh Liu Ying 23-21, 21-18 while Chinese eighth seeds Lu Kai and Huang Yaqiong beat Singapore's Danny Bawa Chrisnanta and Yu Yan Vanessa Neo 21-18, 21-17.

Danish fifth seeds Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Christinna Pedersen cruised past Dutch duo Jacco Arends and Selena Piek 21-10, 21-16 while South Koreans Lee Yong Dae and Lee So Hee beat Russian duo Evgenij Dremin and Evgenia Dimova 22-20, 21-17.

In a tough battle, Indonesia's Praveen Jordan and Debby Susanto got past Japan's Kenichi Hayakawa and Misaki Matsutomo 24-22, 20-22, 21-13 while English sixth seeds Chris Adcock and Gabrielle Adcock beat South Korea's Shin Baek Cheol and Chae Yoo Jung 22-20, 17-21, 21-17.

In men's doubles, China's Cai Yun and Lu Kai beat Chan Alan Yun Lung and Lee Chun Hei Reginald of Hong Kong 21-15, 21-19 and South Koreans Ko Sung Hyun and Shin Baek Cheol fought hard to beat Taiwanese duo Chen Hung Ling and Wang Chi-Lin 21-12, 17-21, 21-19.

Danish fourth seeds Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen beat Malaysian duo Hoon Thien How and Lim Khim Wah
21-16, 18-21, 21-13 and China's Li Junhui and Liu Yuchen got past Takeshi Kamura and Keigo Sonoda of Japan 23-21, 21-17. 

Chinese seventh seeds Liu Xiaolong and Qiu Zihan won a tight encounter against Indonesia's Angga Pratama and Ricky Karanda Suwardi 21-12, 15-21, 27-25 while Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen of Denmark hammered American duo Phillip Chew and Sattawat Pongnairat 21-10, 21-16.

In women's doubles, Chinese fifth seeds Tian Qing and Zhao Yunlei beat English Duo Heather Oliver and     Lauren Smith 21-14, 21-8 while South Korea's Chang Ye Na and Lee So Hee beat Japanese sixth seeds Reika Kakiiwa and Miyuki Maeda 21-10, 21-4.

Malaysian duo Amelia Alicia Anscelly and Soong Fie Cho hammered Egypt's Doha Hany and Hadia Hosny 21-7, 21-8 and Japan's Naoko Fukuman and Kurumi Yonao cruised past Indian duo Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa 21-16, 21-11.

South Korea's Chae Yoo Jung and Kim So Yeong comfortably beat Hoo Vivian Kah Mun and Woon Khe Wei of Malaysia 21-14, 21-16.
