Chen, Lin reach China quarters

The men's top three seeds all reached the quarter-final stage of badminton's Thaihot China Open on Thursday.

Chinese top seed Chen Long had little trouble beating Hsu Jen Hao of Taiwan 21-5, 21-8 in 30 minutes.

In other men's second round matches, Danish second seed Jan O Jorgensen won in straight games against China's Guo Kai 21-19, 21-19 while Chinese third seed Lin Dan hammered Brice Leverdez of Holland 21-6, 21-10.

Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia caused an upset by beating Taiwanese sixth seed Chou Tien Chen 21-9, 15-21, 21-12 in 64 minutes. 

Hong Kong's Hu Yun took three games to beat Boonsak Ponsana of Thailand 13-21, 21-19, 21-9 while in a big upset South Korea's Son Wan Ho beat Japanese fourth seed Kento Momota 21-15, 21-14.

Shi Yuqi of China beat South Korean Lee Dong Keun 21-19, 21-16 while seventh seed Viktor Axelsen of Denmark won a tough battle overcoming Hong Kong's Wong Wing Ki Vincent 21-14, 19-21, 21-19.%u200B
