Indian badminton ace Saina Nehwal has revealed that she is already focused on the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
The world number four shuttler revealed that she is already engaged in a plan to be prepared for the Olympics next year.
She said: "I am training hard and this has ultimate target for a medal in the 2016 Olympics. In between I will keep playing tournaments, including Indian Open and All England Badminton Championship.
"But my ultimate focus is to build myself up for the Rio Olympics."
Nehwal added: "I have not chalked out any schedule. I will participate in some of the international tournaments and take each event as it comes and improve myself as part of my preparation for the 2016 Olympics."
Nehwal was speaking in the same week when there was controversy over her nomination for Inida's Padma Bhushan award. Although the badminton star copped criticism for what many considered lobbying to be nominated she said she was pleased with the nomination.
She said: "I am satisfied with the ministry sending my name up to the Panel. Now, it is left to the Judges to select me or not.
