Reports: CSL club offers to make Gareth Bale highest paid star ever in Chinese football history

Zidane confirms Bale’s departure from Real Madrid

Zinedine Zidane confirmed the future of Gareth Bale on July 21 by stating that Real Madrid are working on a way to offload him. However, the Welshman’s future remains unclear with no specific club showing an interest in him. However, if reports are to be believed, one club is so keen on his services that they are willing to make him the best-paid player in the country’s history!

According to the Telegraph, Chinese Super League side are willing to make Gareth Bale the highest-paid player in their country’s history, in order to sign him from Real Madrid. The CSL side are willing to match Bale’s £600,000 weekly salary, an aspect which has proven to be a key obstacle in his transfer so far.

If the rumours turn out to be true, Bale will de-facto become the best-paid player in the league currently, eclipsing £Ezequiel Lavezzi in the process. The former Napoli man is currently on a 500,000 per week paycheck at Hebei China Fortune. Although the report also states that the Beijing-based club has ten days to complete this stunning deal, with the 2019 Chinese transfer window closing on July 31.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane, dropped a bombshell in his press conference on July 21, by stating that Bale is on the verge of exiting the club.

“We’ll have to see what happens in the coming days. We’ll have to see if it goes through tomorrow, if it does then all the better. Let’s hope, for everyone’s sake, that it happens soon. The club is dealing with the club that he’ll move to,” he said.

FOX Sports Asia Probability Rating: 3/5; Gareth Bale is, without a doubt, one of the most talented players in Europe at the moment. And yet, he finds himself in a peculiar position! His current club, Real Madrid doesn’t want him, while no other club has seemingly approached him. Therefore, time is running out for the Welshman to find a home for himself for the next season.

A CSL move, with an extremely high-package, does seem like a last-resort but one which Bale will surely expect if an offer from elsewhere doesn’t arrive.

Mauricio Pochettino weighs in on Tottenham potentially signing Gareth Bale

Zidane confirms Bale’s departure from Real Madrid

The future of Gareth Bale is one of the big mysteries of the 2019 transfer window. The Welshman is unwanted at current club Real Madrid. Furthermore, no club has come forward and announced their interest in him. However, after Zinedine Zidane’s latest remarks, Mauricio Pochettino has commented on a possible return.

In the early hours of July 21, Zinedine Zidane had confirmed that Gareth Bale will be leaving Real Madrid. The Frenchman stated that Real Madrid are working on achieving an outcome which will suit everybody.

“We hope he leaves soon. It would be best for everyone.

“We are working on his transfer to a new team,” he had said.

Tottenham remain one of the clubs linked with a move for Bale. The forward enjoyed a six-year spell with the club before eventually moving to Real Madrid for a then world-record fee.

Asked for his take on the situation following Tottenham’s win over Juventus, Mauricio Pochettino remained coy. Although he did not rule out a move for the Welshman, he stated that the final decision to bring him rests with the chairman.

“I saw in the media but I don’t know which club is going to sign him. I don’t know if it is us or another club. It is the job of my chairman to built the best possible club,” said the Argentine.

Despite fielding a team mixed with youth and experience, Pochettino saw his Spurs beat Juventus. The London-based side were given a great start by Erik Lamela, who popped in at the half-hour mark to score. However, Juventus had turned the tie around by the hour mark, after Gonzalo Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo scored in quick succession.

Nevertheless, Tottenham replied with two goals of their own, first from Lucas Moura, and later from Harry Kane to seal the win.

Reports: EA Sports in talks to add Indian Super League in FIFA series

EA Sports’ FIFA franchise grows by the year! The football simulation is currently one of the biggest games in the world, with millions of fans eagerly waiting for its release every year. Furthermore, the gaming franchise continues to gather mass appeal by including teams and leagues from all over the world. And, reportedly, they have found their next target!

According to a report by Khel Now, EA Sports is in talks with the Indian Super League to include a virtual rendition of the competition in their popular gaming franchise, FIFA. The report, in question, states that the Indian league will first be introduced in the mobile version of the game, better known as FIFA Mobile, before being made available to other platforms.

Meanwhile, FIFA already has included the Indian National Team since the 2012 edition. Although the team remains unlicensed, the players are represented by their true names and available in all segments of the game.

Supporters of the Indian Super League will see this as another big win if the rumour does indeed turn out to be true. Moves were made recently for the competition to be awarded a ‘premier’ status by the All India Football Federation, with the winner being granted an AFC Champions League qualification spot. The move has been made with a view to promoting the ISL as the top league in India, with the I-League losing its spot.

Reports: Manchester United ready 70 Million bid for Ligue 1 star

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hopes Manchester United can put a smile on his face

Manchester United haven’t spent heavily on their squad so far. The Red Devils have brought in two new players – Daniel James and Aaron Wan Bissaka – and remain in talks with several others. And now, reports suggest that a new target has been added to the list!

According to The Times, via Daily Mail, Manchester United are ready to pay 70 Million for Lille star Nicolas Pepe. The Ivorian is on the list of several top clubs but the Red Devils have seemingly raced ahead after advancing their discussions with the French club.

Furthermore, the report states that Liverpool, who at one point were leading the race for Pepe, have fallen behind as they are yet to make an offer for the player. They have, however, contacted the Ligue 1 star’s representatives.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils remain in the hunt for Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes. Both players have been touted as key transfer targets for the club – ones which they would like to get over the line before the deadline.

FOX Sports Asia Probability Rating: 2/5; Not much in this rumour at the moment although it will be interesting to see whether this gains pace over the next few weeks. Several reports have claimed that the Red Devils are currently fixated on Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes. And those two players look the most likely to come through the gates of Old Trafford before the English transfer window deadline.

WATCH: Harry Kane scores Puskas award-worthy goal in win over Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus

Cristiano Ronaldo and Juventus’s first outing under Maurizio Sarri ended in a defeat. The Bianconeri lost by three goals to two in a closely-fought encounter. While both teams were pretty equal during the ninety-odd minutes, it was Harry Kane who popped up in stoppage time to score an absolute beauty and hand his side the win.

Harry Kane scored a stunning goal as Tottenham beat Juventus in the Singapore leg of the International Champions Cup. The Englishman hit a breathtaking first-time shot from the centre of the pitch without even lifting his head, with the ball ultimately landing in the goal.

Here’s a video of that strike:

Erik Lamela had opened the scoring for a youthful Spurs side in the thirtieth minute. The Argentine forward was on hand to tap home the rebound, after Gianluigi Buffon had saved the initial shot from teenager Troy Parrott.

Nevertheless, second-half substitute Gonzalo Higuain brought the two sides level with a wonderfully taken strike before Cristiano Ronaldo gave Juventus the lead minutes later. Spurs, however, persisted and found the equalizer soon enough. New signing Tanguy N’Dombele, on for his debut in the sixty-second minute, nabbed an assist as Lucas Moura converted from close range.

With the two sides level after ninety minutes, the match seemed to be headed to the penalty shootout. That’s when Kane popped up with his moment of magic to seal Spurs’ first win of the season.

Reports: Lionel Messi apologizes to CONMEBOL for Copa America remarks; asks for reduced sanctions

Argentina superstar Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi went on a stunning rant following Argentina’s elimination from Copa America 2019. The Albiceleste forward received a red card in the third-place play-off against Chile, ending his tournament prematurely. However, reports state that he has now been forced to apologize in order to lessen his punishment.

A report from La Nacion claims that Lionel Messi has been forced to apologize to CONMEBOL following his comments post Copa America. The Argentine skipper went on a bizarre rant during and after the tournament, claiming the organizers to be corrupt.

“We could have gone further but we weren’t allowed into the final. Corruption, referees and all the rest stopped people from enjoying the football.

“I always tell the truth and I’m honest, that is what keeps me calm, if what I say has repercussions that is not my business,” Messi had said on that occasion.

However, the latest reports state that Messi has now apologized to CONMEBOL via the AFA.

Furthermore, the AFA is now hoping that the senior team skipper gets a reduced penalty. Previous reports had claimed Messi to be eligible for a two-year ban. However, the Federation now believes that a warning or a small fine should do the trick.

Meanwhile, under no circumstances are the AFA ready to accept a two-year ban for their senior men’s team captain.

WATCH: Real Madrid new recruit Rodrygo Goes scores stunning goal on his debut

Zinedine Zidane back at Real Madrid but he faces big task filling Cristiano Ronaldo void – Fernando Morientes

Real Madrid spent heavily in the 2019 summer transfer window to put a bad season behind them. Los Blancos brought in five new players by spending over €250 Million. Despite that, they went down by three goals to one against Bayern Munich. However, the one goal they did score turned out to be an absolute beauty.

Not Eden Hazard, not Luka Jovic, but it was Rodrygo Goes who scored Real Madrid’s first goal of the season. The Brazil youngster netted in a three-one friendly reverse against Bayern Munich right after goalkeeper Sven Ulreich was shown a red.

It was Ulreich’s foul on Rodrygo itself which resulted in the former’s sending off. The goalkeeper had caught the forward right outside his area, resulting in a Real Madrid free-kick as well.

Rodrygo himself placed the ball and proceeded to take the free-kick, which he calmly nestled into the top right corner of the goal, beyond the reach of substitute goalkeeper Ron-Torben Hoffman.

Here’s a video of the goal:

Nevertheless, it proved to be only a consolation goal for Los Blancos, who were already down by three at that point of time.

Corentin Tolisso had opened the scoring just fifteen minutes into the match, before Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry had added one each in quick succession. It proved to be enough to deal Real Madrid their first, albeit friendly, loss of the season. Bayern, meanwhile, bounced back following a shock defeat to Arsenal.

Reports: Manchester United identify Juventus newcomer as Harry Maguire alternative

Manchester United remain in the hunt for a centre back, despite closing in on a move for Harry Maguire. Reports suggest that the Red Devils are still some way apart from Leicester City’s valuation and if the transfer falls through, they will turn their attention elsewhere.

According to Turkish Football, Manchester United have identified new Juventus signing Merih Demiral as an alternative to Harry Maguire. The Turkish international only just moved to Juventus on a permanent transfer, before his arrival was overshadowed by that of Matthijs de Ligt.

Furthermore, the report states that Juventus would be willing to let go of Demiral but only if they include a buyback clause. The Turkey National Team player is unavailable on loan and was the subject of a rejected bid from AC Milan.

Meanwhile, Demiral is a self-proclaimed Nemanja Vidic fan. The Serbian defender is known for his time at Manchester United, during which he formed an unbreakable partnership with Rio Ferdinand.

“When I was young I always followed Nemanja Vidic at Manchester United. I used to watch clips of him on the internet. He’s still my idol even if he has retired. He was brave, a warrior, never gave up and was a true leader,” Demiral had said in a recent interview.

FOX Sports Asia Probability Rating: 3/5; Similar to the case of Mattia Caldara last year, Merih Demiral finds himself in a tight spot at Juventus. The Bianconeri brought him in with a view towards the future but followed it up by signing Matthijs de Ligt. With their current defensive depth, it seems unlikely that Demiral breaks into the first team. And so, a move elsewhere beckons.

However, Manchester United will have to fight a few clubs for his signature and would rather focus their efforts in getting Harry Maguire.

Dominic Thiem gives verdict on who between Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic deserved to win Wimbledon 2019

Novak Djokovic shares thoughts on epic Wimbledon final win over Roger Federer

On Sunday, July 14, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic took part in a tennis epic, which saw both men give everything. The match in question was the Wimbledon Final, which according to Dominic Thiem, deserved no loser.

Dominic Thiem gave his views on the Roger Federer-Novak Djokovic epic that took place at the centre court in Wimbledon. The match saw both men give their absolute best and was concluded after a fifth-set tiebreak.

Roger Federer was on the losing end of the final, with Novak Djokovic winning his sixteenth Grand Slam. However, Thiem believes that the match itself deserved no loser:

“I have not watched the entire match, I saw the entire Federer-Nadal semifinal, I really enjoyed the match, but the final was unbelievably emotional,” Thiem said (Tennis World USA)

“The match did not deserve a loser.”

Thiem, who is considered to be one of the best players of tennis’ latest generation, then gave his views on his own defeat. The Austrian lost to USA’s Sam Querrey despite winning the first set.

“Until the third set everything was okay, then I lost focus and the match ended. It was a really tough first round and if I went through that, I could have reached more rounds but I cannot do anything about it now.”

The youngster, along with the likes of Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, will now prepare for the upcoming US Open. The Grand Slam will complete the 2019 set and will be followed shortly by the ATP Finals.

Reports: Paul Pogba to snub Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus and move to Real Madrid for one key reason

Paul Pogba has been nothing short of an enigma at Manchester United. The France international returned to the club for a world record fee amid much fanfare but has fallen short of expectations so far. He has since been linked with moves to Real Madrid and Juventus and he would prefer joining the former.

Manchester United fans have been left frustrated by Paul Pogba. While some side with the Frenchman over his role in the team, others question his efforts. Furthermore, fans have also bemoaned Pogba’s off-field antics while also slamming the star to fuel transfer speculation.

Over the past few months, Pogba has been linked with moves to both Real Madrid and Juventus. However, as per reports by L’Equipe, via the Mirror, the World Cup winner only wants to sign for Los Blancos.

The reason why Pogba fancies Real is simple, as they are coached by his countryman Zinedine Zidane. The Manchester United star is a huge admirer of Zidane and is keen to work with him at Madrid. Meanwhile, Juventus, who also showed interest in re-signing the French international have been left behind.

However, a Real Madrid move for the Red Devil seems unlikely at this point. The Spanish side have already invested upwards of €200 Million in their squad, by signing the likes of Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, and Ferland Mendy. Furthermore, they would need to sell several players in order to balance their books while creating ample space in the squad for any new signing.

Stats show Manchester United will be making a mistake by selling Romelu Lukaku

Inter target Lukaku trains with Man Utd as speculation over his future intensifies

Manchester United are heavily involved in the transfer market this summer. While the continue to be linked with several players, stars from the club itself are looking for a way out. Among those stars is Romelu Lukaku. But stats suggest that the Red Devils will be making a huge mistake by letting him go.

As stated by Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol, Romelu Lukaku has been the third-highest scorer in the Premier League since his debut. Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero and Tottenham’s Harry Kane are the only players in the league ahead of him in terms of goals scored during the same time period.

The Belgian striker has scored one hundred and thirteen times (113) since making his debut back in 2011. Meanwhile, during the same period, Sergio Aguero has netted a whopping one hundred and sixty-four (164) goals while Harry Kane has scored one hundred and twenty-five times (125).

Lukaku’s goals have dried up in recent times, with the striker recording his lowest tally last season since his Chelsea days. Furthermore, several fans have slammed the Belgium international for his heavy first touch while some have questioned his mentality since the start of his Manchester United spell.

Meanwhile, Lukaku continues to be heavily linked with a move to Inter Milan. The forward has not been involved in any of United’s friendly games so far.

Furthermore, new Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte declared his admiration for the Belgian striker publicly in a recent press conference. He stated that although he likes Lukaku, he remains a Manchester United player at this moment.

“You know I like this player,” Conte said, “In the past when I was Chelsea’s coach [from 2016 to 2018] I tried to bring him to Chelsea.

“As I said before, I like this player and consider him an important player for us to have a good improvement but at the same there is a transfer market.

“We know very well which is our situation at the moment and we will see what happens but for now Lukaku is a United player.”

Conte’s Inter Milan will take on Manchester United in a pre-season friendly on July 20, 2019. The Red Devils’ manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already revealed that Lukaku will take no part in the match due to an injury.

BREAKING: Atletico Madrid complete signing of former Real Madrid youth star

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone

Atletico Madrid had a big task at hand this summer – a complete squad overhaul. The Rojiblancos invested heavily in their squad this year and signed several players including Joao Felix and Keiren Trippier. They have now brought in another player who happens to be a former Real Madrid youth star.

Atletico Madrid have completed the signing of Mario Hermoso from RCD Espanyol. Hermoso played for Real Madrid from 2005 till 2017, before he was offloaded to Espanyol. The Spaniard has now signed a five-year contract for Atletico after joining in a deal reportedly worth €29 Million.

Real Madrid were said to be hot on the trails of Hermosoduring the 2019 winter transfer window. However, a move could not be finalized and the Spaniard spent his season with Espanyol. Nevertheless, six months later, Hermoso has finally moved to Madrid, albeit to Atletico. His move will also see former club Real Madrid receive a significant payment due to a reported sell-on clause.

The 24-year-old had his breakthrough season during the 2018/19 campaign, as he made an Espanyol starting berth his own. Owing to his great form, Hermoso was called up to the Spain senior squad by Luis Enrique and he proceeded to make his international debut in November 2018.

Hermoso now joins the Rojiblancos on a five-year deal which will run on till 2024.
