NHL: Girardi leads Rangers to victory
Dan Girardi snapped a 0-0 tie 53 seconds into the third period as the New York Rangers took game one of the Eastern Conference final series against the New Jersey Devils 3-0.
The Rangers got a strong performance from goalie Henrik Lundqvist, who made 21 saves for his second post-season shut-out and made a key triple stop from Devils captain Zach Parise in the second.
And New York took full advantage as Girardi, Chris Kreider and Artem Anisimov all scored in the third.
The seven-game series remains in New York for game two on Wednesday.
