Broncos promote Goodman
The Denver Broncos are pleased with how Jim Goodman can put together a team.
The Broncos promoted Goodman to vice president of football operations/player personnel on Tuesday.
The team also named Brian Xanders assistant general manager and Anthony Kelly assistant coordinator of pro and college scouting. Goodman had played a significant role in shaping the roster for the Broncos, especially since Ted Sundquist stepped down suddenly as general manager on March 12.
Serving as the director of player personnel the previous two years, Goodman will oversee the day-to-day football operations of the organization and will continue to manage the Broncos' overall scouting process. He also will coordinate the team's draft preparations and be involved in the evaluation and acquisition of both pro and college players.
Xanders comes to the Broncos after spending the previous 14 years with the Atlanta Falcons. Along with overseeing the planning of the team's salary cap, he will work with assistant general manager Jeff Goodman in managing the roster.
Kelly spent last season serving as a college scout covering the Northeast region.
