NBA: Anthony leads Knicks past Celtics

Carmelo Anthony contributed 28 points and nine rebounds as the New York Knicks beat the Boston Celtics 89-86 in the NBA clash in Massachusetts.

Celtics pair Rajon Rondo and Paul Pierce scored 23 and 22 points respectively but the Knicks held firm for a win which leaves them once more a full game ahead of the Brooklyn Nets atop the Atlantic Division.

Divisional rivals the Toronto Raptors edged the Orlando Magic 97-95 as DeMar DeRozan scored 22 points - 14 of them in the final quarter, including a game-winning two-point jump shot right on the buzzer.

The Phoenix Suns upset Pacific Division rivals the Los Angeles Clippers 93-88 in the night's other game, Goran Dragic scoring 24 points.
