It was an accomplished performance from the Eastern Conference leaders, who claimed their fifth win in six thanks to the contributions of George as well as David West's 16 points and eight rebounds.

DeMarcus Cousins was one of the only positives for the Kings as the 23-year-old had 31 points and 13 rebounds.

The Memphis Grizzlies earned their third successive win after edging out the Oklahoma City Thunder 90-87.

Kevin Durant poured in 37 points, while Courtney Lee chipped in with a season-high 24 points, including two crucial free throws, to ensure the Grizzlies continued their good recent form.

The New York Knicks' five-match winning run came to a sudden end following a 108-98 defeat against the Charlotte Bobcats.

Al Jefferson came to the fore with a season's best 35 points, with 12 of Kemba Walker's 25 coming in the fourth quarter, where the Bobcats pulled away after seeing their lead cut to five heading into the final period.

The Los Angeles Lakers' slump continued after they were beaten 120-118 in an entertaining, if fruitless, clash against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Despite Nick Young top-scoring with 28 points, they fell to their fifth consecutive defeat.
