NBA: Rivers enjoys winning return to Boston

Former Celtics coach Doc Rivers won his first game back in Boston as the Los Angeles Clippers won 96-88 over the Boston Celtics.

Crawford came off the bench to score 21 points and Chris Paul had 22 points, nine assists and seven rebounds. Blake Griffin scored 18 points for the Clippers, who won for the seventh time in 10 games.

Jeff Green scored 29 points against his former coach, who was traded to Los Angeles last summer for a first-round draft pick.

Jordan Crawford had 20 points and nine assists, and Brandon Bass had 17 points and 12 rebounds for the Celtics, who lost their second in a row.

The Minnesota Timberwolves rallied from a 19-point deficit to defeat the Philadelphia 76ers 106-99, Kevin Love returning 26 points, 15 rebounds and five assists.

Russell Westbrook scored 27 points and Kevin Durant added 18 to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 116-100 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

The New Orleans Pelicans edged past the Detroit Pistons 111-106 with Ryan Anderson recovering from a poor shooting night from long range to hit two clutch three-pointers in overtime.

The San Antonio Spurs routed the Milwaukee Bucks 109-77 with 21 points and 16 rebounds from Tim Duncan who played just 24 minutes, Tony Parker adding 15 points.

The Orlando Magic snapped a six-game losing run by beating the Charlotte Bobcats 92-83, Jameer Nelson scoring 12 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter.

The Utah Jazz beat the Sacramento Kings 122-101 and the Golden State Warriors defeated the Dallas Mavericks 95-93.
