The Yorkshire player injured the little finger on his right hand during fielding practice in Brisbane and appeared in some discomfort at the time.
But the injury is not considered too serious, with his finger expected to heal in two to four weeks.
That prognosis would leave Ballance fit and able to bat in time for England???s opening World Cup match against Australia at the MCG on February 14.
The ECB has therefore decided not to call up a replacement for either England???s current ODI Tri-Nations series with Australia and India, or the World Cup itself.
“Gary Ballance has a fractured right little finger, sustained during fielding practice in Canberra,??? the ECB confirmed on their official twitter feed.
???Ballance will be available for the ICC Cricket World Cup and therefore we will not be calling another player into the squad.”
