Warriors continue run, Bryant shines for Lakers

The Golden State Warriors continued their winning run with a victory over the Charlotte Hornets, while Kobe Bryant's season best inspired the Los Angeles Lakers to a victory over the Washington Wizards in Wednesday's NBA action.

Stephen Curry scored 40 points as the Warriors' run as the start of the season was extended to 20-0 with a 116-99 win over the Hornets. 

Nicolas Batum was the most impressive performer for the hosts, contributing 17 points, eight rebounds and three assists in a losing cause.

Bryant, meanwhile rolled back the years in the Lakers' 108-104 triumph over the Wizards, scoring 31 points, two rebounds and three assists. 

John Wall was the most prolific player in action in Charlotte, scoring 34 points, assisting 11 and claiming seven rebounds to no avail.

Paul George scored 31 points and claimed 10 rebounds as the Indiana Pacers outlasted the Los Angeles Clippers 103-91.

At the end of the second quarter, the Clippers had opened up a handy three-point lead, but in the latter stages of the match the George-inspired Pacers proved too strong for the hosts.

The Detroit Pistons came from behind to claim a 127-122 win over the Phoenix Suns thanks to Reggie Jackson's 34-point haul. Going into the fourth quarter, the Suns were leading by nine points, but the Pistons were able to cut down that deficit to force overtime. In overtime, the Pistons triumphed 15-10 to improve their home record to 6-2.

The Philadelphia 76ers recorded their 21st defeat of the season when they went down 99-87 to the New York Knicks.

Kristaps Porzingis impressed for the Knicks, scoring 17 points, claiming 10 rebounds and assisting twice.

The Toronto Raptors claimed a 96-86 win against the Atlanta Hawks, after trailing by 14 going into the third quarter. Kyle Lowry scored 31 points for the Canadians, while claiming five rebounds and five assists.

Pau Gosol scored 26 points and claimed 19 rebounds as the Chicago Bulls beat the Denver Nuggets by 99 points to 90.

In Houston, the Rockets came back from a terrible first quarter to claim a 108-101 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

At the end of the first quarter, the Rockets were trailing by 12, but found the basket more regularly in the remainder of the match to improve their season record to 8-11.

Anthony Davis scored 29 points and claimed 13 rebounds for the Pelicans, while James Harden scored 20 for the Rockets.

In Wednesday's final match, San Antonio Spurs eased to a 95-70 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. The victory was San Antonio's 10th win at home this season.
