Royals comeback downs Astros

A late rally from Kansas City saw the Royals beat the Houston Astros 9-6 and force their American League Division Series  to a decisive Game 5.

The Astros were 6-2 up heading into the eighth inning and appeared to have the division series all but wrapped up, but seven unanswered runs in the final two inning saw Kansas City keep their hopes of extending their postseason alive.

The Royals opened the eighth with five straight singles off Astros relievers Will Harris and Tony Sipp, with Lorenzo Cain and Eric Hosmer notching up RBI hits to make it 6-4 and with the bases loaded.

It was then that a mistake from Astros shortstop Carlos Correa that turned the game, with the rookie unable to hold onto a grounder that deflected off Sipp's glove, turning a potential double-play into two runs for the Royals.

Alex Gordon's RBI groundout put Kansas ahead, before Hosmer smashed a two-run homer in the ninth to secure the victory.

The series will now be decided in Game 5 in Houston on Wednesday.
