The pair will meet for the second time in as many tournaments after also clashing in the quarter-finals of the Shanghai Masters last week.
Berdych won on that occasion and the Czech was in fine form on Saturday in a 6-3 6-2 victory over Nicolas Almagro while top seed Tsonga edged past Marcos Baghdatis.
The Frenchman, who is far from assured of a place at the O2, was leading 6-4 4-6 5-2 when Baghdatis retired with a groin strain.
Berdych said on www.atpworldtour.com: "We played last week and it was a very close game. We both want to play our best tennis tomorrow.
"He plays very aggressively and I will try to focus on my game. If it works then I will have a good chance of winning."
