Benneteau sees off Berlocq in Malaysia

Seventh seed Julien Benneteau made largely untroubled progress to the second round of the Malaysian Open with a straight-sets win over Carlos Berlocq.

Roddick has Benneteau on the run.

The Frenchman allowed a 5-2 lead to slip away as the first set went to a tie-break, but he won that comfortably and went on to complete a 7-6 (7/2) 6-3 win in 91 minutes.

Australia's Matthew Ebden beat Russian wild-card Philip Davydenko, the nephew of former world number three Nikolay, 6-0 7-6 (7/3) while Spaniard Albert Ramos enjoyed a 6-1 6-4 success against Julian Knowle of Austria.
