Spain unaffected by Nadal injury

Defending champion Spain have named an unchanged squad for their Davis Cup semi-final against the United States with Rafael Nadal still sidelined by injury.

Verdasco and Granollers fully pumped up.

Fifth-ranked David Ferrer and Nicolas Almagro have been named to play singles with Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez to team up in the doubles for the tie in Gijon later this month.

Third-ranked Nadal has been out of action since his shock second-round exit at Wimbledon and revealed yesterday that he would miss another two months due to a partial tear of the patella tendon in his left knee.

The United States are yet to name their squad, although they are likely to be weakened following the retirement of Andy Roddick after the US Open while Mardy Fish had to pull out of his fourth-round match with Roger Federer following the heart problems he has suffered this year.
