Hewitt will play singles and doubles in their Asia-Oceania Group 1 clash with China at the Geelong Tennis Club.
He will play alongside youngster Bernard Tomic in the singles and partner Chris Guccione in the doubles.
Hewitt fell out of the top 100 after an injury-plagued 2011, but made a run to the fourth round of the Australian Open last month and only lost to eventual champion Novak Djokovic.
Team captain Pat Rafter said: "To me he is back in the top 20 in terms of how he is hitting the ball."
Hewitt will tie the mark set by legendary doubles specialist Todd Woodbridge.
