Chela convincing in Bucharest

Top seed Juan Ignacio Chela blazed into the quarter-finals of the BRD Nastase Tiriac Trophy in Bucharest with a 6-1 6-0 rout of French qualifier Florent Serra.

The Argentinian world number 23 needed just one hour and two minutes to make the last eight, saving all five break points against him, and breaking Serra six times.

Chela was joined in the last eight by Italian Andreas Seppi, who had a much harder time against Russian Igor Andreev, eventually coming through 6-2 3-6 6-1 in one hour and 45 minutes.

In first-round action, Spain's Pere Riba advanced at the expense of Italian sixth seed Potito Starace, who retired injured when trailing 6-1 3-2.
