He will face Gael Monfils in Montpellier for the title.

Gasquet came through 7-6 (8/6) 7-6 (7/4) in one hour and 42 minutes to set up an all-French final against fifth seed Monfils, who had earlier beaten Finland's Jarkko Nieminen 6-2 3-6 6-1 in the other semi-final.

If Monfils beats his countryman he will claim his fifth ATP World Tour title and his second at the Open Sud de France after claiming victory against Ivan Ljubicic in the 2010 final. Monfils was also a runner-up to Tomas Berdych in 2012.
