Haas shines again in Erste Bank Open

German veteran Tommy Haas battled past Dutchman Robin Haase to win the Erste Bank Open in Vienna - 12 years after his maiden victory at the same tournament.

Second seed Haas edged home 6-3 4-6 6-4 in two hours and five minutes to keep alive his slim hopes of qualifying for the end-of-season ATP World Tour finals.

Haase broke first in the opening set but Haas responded by winning six of the next seven games to take the set.

Although the Dutchman grabbed the crucial break at the end of the second set, Haas responded to win the decider for the 15th ATP title of his career.
