Top seed Dominika Cibulkova was knocked out by Antonia Lottner in the second round of the Rosmalen Grass Court Championship on Wednesday.
Lottner, ranked 161st in the world, survived a second set comeback to edge Cibulkova 7-5,2-6, 6-4 on the grass courts of the Dutch city.
The Slovakian struggled on serve and Lottner took advantage in the opening set, breaking Cibulkova twice.
But the 2016 WTA Finals winner battled back to force a decider with two breaks.
The final set was a tense affair. The scores were locked at 4-4 when the German would earn a the crucial break of serve that allowed her to serve the match, which she duly did.

Elsewhere, seventh seed Lesia Tsurenko of Ukraine eased past Petra Krejsova 6-2, 6-3 while Germany’s Carina Witthoft beat Camila Giorgi 7-6(5), 6-3.
