The dichotomy of golf

If you have ever hit that little white ball around a course, you know that you can get extremely lucky or unlucky…

Case in point: On Friday, Phil Mickelson’s errant drive found a bunker on the sixth hole at TPC Scottsdale during the ongoing Waste Management Open.

As luck would have it, a pretty decent lie allowed him to go for the green despite being 140 yards out. Mickelson obliged with this stunner…

Meanwhile, on the other side of the coin, we have Ollie Schniederjans. After finding the green with a superlative drive on the par four 17th, he had a 74 footer for eagle.

The American must have been thinking he’ll get a birdie chance at the least, but the golfing gods had something else in store for him.

Golf is hard…
