"China has everything a World Cup should offer.
"They have the facilities, they have the infrastructure, and they have the economy. So I don't think you can deny China," he said.
"I believe they have the potential. Asia's always backed China. Hopefully with the prospect of hosting a World Cup it will further propel Chinese football."
Chinese football is on a major high since with a Chinese side winning the AFC Champions League in 2013 and the national team also doing well.
All this can be attributed to a major clamp down on corruption by the Chinese football authorities.
Football has been made a priority by President Xi Jinping and part of the plan is to host and eventually winning a World Cup.
According to AFP, a source at this week's AFC congress in Manama confirmed that senior Chinese officials were targeting a joint bid for the 2026 and 2030 World Cups.
