Reigning world champion Casey Stoner believes he can still retain his crown despite finishing 16th at the French Grand Prix at Le Mans.
The Ducati rider suffered an engine glitch during the race and he now finds himself 41 points adrift of championship leader Valentino Rossi.
Stoner told autosport.com: "It's a very big gap, especially after five races, but there is a long way to go."
