Ricciardo sets deadline for Red Bull talks

Daniel Ricciardo

Daniel Ricciardo has said he would like talks about his future to progress in the next couple of weeks before he switches off completely over the Christmas period.

The Aussie is out of contract at the end of next season and could potentially have an option to join Ferrari or Mercedes in 2019 as Kimi Raikkonen and Valtteri Bottas are currently on one-year renewals.

Ricciardo has said that driving the best car is his main priority but wants to have more talks before he goes on holiday.

"I’m sure there will be a few discussions in the next week or two, especially with the team,” Ricciardo said.

"It’s not about the offer, it’s about who is going to have the best car for 2019.”

"Once I get home and over Christmas, I want to switch off from racing so I would like to know something earlier.
