Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone has revealed he hopes the popular race will continue next season following contract negotiations last month.
Ecclestone said: "I am very confident this year's F1 (race) won't be the last."
Sepang chairman Mokhzani Mahathir added: "The talks are centred on an agreeable price for organising the prestigious race for the next three years.
"We also have to take into consideration the current economic volatility. For now we have not made any decision yet."
CEO Dato' Razlan Razali was also confident about the future of the race, saying: "We are still finalising our discussion with Formula One. Unfortunately I can't reveal any more than that. We just have to wait until the race weekend. Both parties have come to some kind of an agreement, but certain items – we are still discussing the finer points."
