Haas Formula 1, who will join the paddock in 2016, have made signing an experienced driver an utmost priority.
Many names have been mentioned as possible candidates, including Ferrari test drivers Jean-Eric Vergne and Esteban Gutierrez. Haas, who will be using Ferrari engines, have close ties with the Italian team, hence the strong links to their drivers.
It is also believed that Haas might try to bring Nico Hulkenberg on board. The German would certainly meet the "experienced driver" requirement set by Haas.
Gene Haas, founder of the team told Motorsport.com that they had many options on the table and no fixed decisions had yet been made.
"We have a list of 10 drivers we are watching," said Haas.
"We'll talk to them in particular and we will see what works for us. We definitely want to have drivers who are currently competing on the starting grid, people with experience."
