Scuderia Toro Rosso F1 driver Max Verstappen says that he plans on scoring as many points as possible in 2016 and hopefully getting a podium finish.
The 18-year-old Dutchman concluded a very impressive rookie year in 2015 and is hoping that the team’s engine switch from Renault to Ferrari will give him the extra zip that is needed to do well in the sport.
In a chat with Dutch TV channel NOS, Verstappen said that he was aiming high for success.
“Yeah, 100 points. You have to aim high, right?” Verstappen told Dutch TV channel NOS.
“For a third place you would need a good engine,” he said.
“First or second place I think is too much for now – you also have to be realistic.”
The youngest driver to get a podium finish in F1 is Sebastian Vettel, who was 21 when he won the Italian Grand Prix in 2008.
