Ranocchia was the hero for the Nerazzurri as he scored the winning goal in their thrilling midweek 3-2 win over Bologna in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia at the San Siro.
With the win, Inter progress into the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia where they will face Roma, who eked out a 1-0 win over Fiorentina in the quarter-finals of the competition.
Inter's meeting with Roma in the two-legged semi-finals means that both sides will clash with each other three times in eleven days, the first of which will occur on Sunday as the Nerazzurri attempt to close the seven point gap between them and current Serie A leaders Juventus.
Ranocchia, who only recently made the breakthrough into the first-team, has claimed that he is eagerly anticipating the matches against i Giallorossi and expressed his desire to play against Roma striker Francesco Totti, who is an injury doubt for the game.
"We've got tough matches against Roma coming up, but they'll be fun to play in," Ranocchia was quoted as saying by the official Inter website.
"Roma have a great frontline, they attack the box with numbers and try to overload you.
"Especially Totti, who I respect a lot and is a champion.
"In some ways it'd be better if he [Totti] weren't playing but it's always fun to play against great players."
Ranocchia also declared that his side had not yet given up on winning the Serie A this season and insisted the Nerazzurri would challenge wholeheartedly for every available title.
"We're still in the hunt in every competition, all of which are difficult," Ranocchia added.
"We'll do our best, I'd like to win everything.
"Can we make up the ground on Juventus? Definitely, we should never stop believing."
Roma, weakened by injuries to key players Totti, Pablo Osvaldo, Erik Lamela and Maarten Stekelenburg, have been in poor form recently, losing three of their last four games, and they will undoubtedly be hoping to end their slump against Inter.
