Chelsea were humbled by the Bianconeri as goals from Quagliarella, Arturo Vidal and Sebastian Giovinco left the Blues' hopes of progressing to the knockout stages of the Champions League hanging by a thread.
Juventus were the dominant team from start to finish but had trouble finding a way past Blues custodian Petr Cech until Quagliarella opened the scoring in bizarre fashion; the 29-year-old managed to stick a leg out to toe-poke a long range Andrea Pirlo shot which left Cech completely wrong-footed.
Despite the seemingly fortuitous manner of the goal, Quagliarella has revealed that he meant to deflect Pirlo's shot and highlighted a similar incident in Saturday's game against Lazio as proof, although that effort was eventually saved.
"It was almost impossible to have the same opportunity, only this time I deflected it low and that probably helped it to go in," Quagliarella was quoted as saying by the official Juventus website.
"A striker is always happy when he scores.
"It was also my third start in a row, which hadn't happened in almost two years.
"This was one of those game that are written in the history of the club. It's a night we will never forget.
"We all played on adrenaline and gave it everything we had to put in a great performance."
Given that the likes of Giovinco, Alessandro Matri, Nicklas Bendtner and Mirko Vucinic are all vying with Quagliarella for a first-team spot up front, manager Antonio Conte has been forced to rotate in order to give his strikers a fair share of playing time.
Quagliarella however has played down talk that the constant rotation was causing unrest in the dressing room and claims everyone had come to an understanding over the rotation policy.
"It is never easy for strikers to deal with this rotation, but the Coach has been clear with us and said he will rotate all five forwards," Quagliarella adeed.
It can happen that a forward plays three games in a row, then goes on the bench.
"We are aware of the situation and therefore relaxed."
Juventus will be in action next against AC Milan in the Serie A.
