It is an organisation that specialises in the mental, physical and emotional healing for young women facing an unplanned pregnancy.

Watson and his wife Angie adopted a month-old baby boy Caleb in March, just before he won the season's first major at Augusta.

The player is donating £31,000 to the charity, plus £15,500 to both "Birdies for the Brave" and "Caddy for a Cure", the first aimed at injured troops and their families and the latter a fund-raising effort set up on the PGA Tour.

Many of the American side have their own charitable foundations, while debutant Keegan Bradley's money is going to six bodies including the Woodstock Ski Runners - he was a skier before turning to golf and it provides programmes for children - and the Vermont Disaster Relief Fund, set up following the damage done by Hurricane Irene last year.
