A35644311211110338A - Mong-nan beats wind to win

Hsu Mong-nan carded a two-under-par 70 in strong winds on Sunday to win the Shanghai Championship by two strokes.

Mong-nan shows off his trophy in Shanghai.

The 34-year-old from Chinese Taipei carded four birdies and two bogeys for a three-under-par 285 total.

Hsu finished two shots ahead of third-round leader Chen Xiaoma and Liao Guiming, who carded 76 and 73 respectively.

Fan Zhipeng took fourth place after carding a 77 to finish even par overall.

"I'm really happy to win because I've really enjoyed playing on the Omega China Tour this year and I've come close before," said Hsu.

"The wind was really strong on the back nine. However, I'm quite familiar with these conditions because it's often like this in Chinese Taipei.

"I was happy with the way I held on at the end, but it was really the four birdies that were the key as they gave me a chance of winning."

Yang Taoli, the first female pro to play on the Omega China Tour, carded a 75 to finish tied for 19th on eight-over.
