A33088881210864574A - Parkin plans Augusta return
Former European Tour golfer Philip Parkin is planning to return to Augusta National next spring after spending the last 24 years unaware he was entitled to play in the annual Masters par-three competition.
The 46-year-old Welshman, who now works as a television commentator, competed in the 1984 Masters as British amateur champion and has only just discovered that that qualifies him for a place in the par-three field each and every April.
"I've been told I can (play) and so as next year is the 25th anniversary of my Masters appearance, it would be great to go back," he said.
Parkin stopped playing competitively well over a decade ago.
