France are currently top of Group I after two wins in their opening two games. They recorded a narrow 1-0 win over Finland last week before their 2-0 win over Belarus on Tuesday thanks ot goals from Etienne Capoue and Christophe Jallet.
With their next match against Spain looming Deschamps is glad for the two wins despite their battling opponents.
"It was not easy today, we should've been ahead at half-time. Paradoxically, we scored when we were [performing] worse," the 43-year-old told TF1.
"It is not easy to win games in this group, as we have seen with Spain who struggled against Georgia [winning 1-0 in Tbilisi earlier tonight]. Us? We have six points, we have achieved our goal.
"Jallet has trained all week to score goals like that! I have a group of 23 players who are close to each other, I am trying to cover everybody, and those who have played today have proven their place in the squad," he said.
France's next match will be against Spain on 16 October.
