A hat-trick by the Real Madrid striker helped Argentina start their campaign to reach the 2014 finals in Brazil with a 4-1 home win, and they are now targeting back-to-back victories in Venezuela.
Higuain told the Ole newspaper: "I hope I can keep playing this way. Playing for the national team is great - I've dreamt about it since I was a kid. I've always dreamt of wearing the number nine shirt of Argentina.
"This is just the beginning of the qualification. Winning the first match is good, but it's just the first step."
Higuain also hailed Lionel Messi as he believes the presence of the Barcelona star makes everything easier.
"We get on with each other very well. To me, it's a pleasure to play by his side," he said.
"With both Angel (Di Maria) and Leo I feel very good when we attack, because we can profit from the spaces we have on the field thanks to their speed."
Venezuela started their qualification campaign with a 2-0 defeat away to Ecuador and coach Cesar Farias expects to see a change on Tuesday, even though he is aware of how powerful Argentina can be.
"When Argentina start off on the right foot, they get results like the one against Chile," he said.
"I think the game in Puerto La Cruz will be completely different."
Midfielder Juan Guerra said the team were very focused on this match as they want to claim their very first win over Argentina.
"We've been working very well since the first training day" he told Balonazos.com. "The group knows the responsibility we have in our hands and we're trying to make plans to get a positive result.
"The coach told us we should remain calm. We should not get excited before nor even during the game because we must be focused during the 90 minutes of the game."
