Goals by Robbie Fowler and Tony Adams - his last in international football - guided England to a 2-0 win at Wembley Stadium with both strikes coming from David Beckham corners. It was England's final match before their fateful Euro 2000 campaign and marked the international debuts of Steven Gerrard and Gareth Barry. Current England international Emile Heskey also featured.

David Beckham, Michael Owen and a goal by Shaun Wright-Phillips on his international debut gave England a 3-0 win at St James' Park. It was England's first match since they lost on penalties to Portugal in the quarter-finals of Euro 2004.

John Terry came to the rescue with an 86th-minute goal as England claimed a 2-1 victory at Wembley Stadium. Peter Crouch gave the hosts a first-half lead with a flashing volley from six yards, but former Chelsea misfit Andriy Shevchenko equalised with a quarter of an hour to go. However, with just four minutes remaining Terry steered home Gerrard's knockdown to give England five consecutive wins in Group Six.
