Following a goalless first half at the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium, the Bruneian outfit took the lead four minutes after the break through Helmi Zambin, before Portuguese striker Joao Moreira netted two minutes later to double their advantage.
12 minutes from time, the points were in the bag for DPMM when Awangku Fakharrazi and two minutes later, Moreira grabbed his second to make it 4-0.
Nonetheless, Geylang refused to give up and pulled one back when Yasir Hanapi scored in the 87th minute, before captain Jozef Kaplan converted a penalty in injury-time to add a degree of respectability to the scoreline, although it proved to be too little too late by then.
Coupled with last Sunday's 1-0 victory over Woodlands Wellington, DPMM are now fourth on the table while Geylang remain in 9th after picking up six points from their opening seven games.
