Joao Moreira scored the only goal of the game two minutes after the half-hour mark to hand his side all three points at the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium and, in the process, provided some much-needed cheer after the latest controversial episode in Bruneian football.
With their last game coming on March 11 - a 2-1 loss at Albirex Niigata (S) - DPMM had been given time off from their S.League commitments due to the large number of players that were set to be involved in Brunei's 2014 AFC Challenge Cup qualification campaign.
However, just days before Tebuan were meant to kick off their Group E campaign with a game against hosts Philippines on March 22, they announced they were withdrawing from the competition due to "unavoidable cirumstances".
Ultimately, their exit paved the way for both the Azkals and Turkmenistan to book their spot in Maldives as group winners and one of the two best second-placed sides respectively.
And having not had a competitive game for 20 days, it was perhaps slightly understandable that DPMM took awhile to get going on Sunday against the Rams.
Nonetheless, they ultimately managed to pick up all three points thanks to Moreira's first-half strike - his second in their colours since joining from in the off-season.
