DPMM FC's new signing Stephane Auvray has vowed to do his best for the Bruneian side in the 2013 Great Eastern-YEO's S.League campaign.

Auvray is one of three new foreign faces at the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium preparing for the coming season, along with Croatian defender Dino Drpic and Portuguese striker Joao Moreira.

The Guadeloupe captain, who was once on the books of French side Caen, spent two years in the Major League Soccer (MLS) plying his trade with Sporting Kansas City and New York Red Bulls.

And while his experience in Europe and America means he has instantly become the most-decorated player in the DPMM dressing room, Auvray insists he is a player who gives 100% wherever he goes.

"I don't know much about the S.League but no matter where you play or who you play, you have to do your best," he told the Brunei Times.

"Once you do your best, you will be rewarded and get what you deserve."

Following a two-year suspension imposed on them by FIFA, DPMM returned to Singaporean football's top flight with a bang last year, winning the Starhub League Cup and challenging for the title until the final day of the season, when they lost out to champions Tampines Rovers.

Despite only joining the club last month, Auvray has already seen promising signs that suggest more success could be in store for Vjeran Simunic's charges.

"I've been pleasantly surprised by the training facility and the field," the 31-year-old said about the Jerudong Mini Stadium, where DPMM have been training.

"The conditions here are very good, the people here are welcoming and the weather's exactly like my country.

"I like the guys' mentality and I've formed an understanding with them very quickly.

"The team has had some good results and that's important [heading forward]."

Following the off-season departure of Croatian midfielder Ivan Jerkovic, Auvray is likely to slot straight into the DPMM engine room alongside captain Rosmin Kamis.
