In a game which had a distinct end-of-season feel to it, neither side really created a clear-cut scoring opportunity, although Bulls midfielder K. Vikraman came closest in the 76th minute when his speculative volley from a tight angle forced Takuma Ito into a flying save.
Nonetheless, the point was enough to see the White Swans overtake Harimau Muda in third place, sealing their best-ever finish since joining the S.League in 2004.
And while the game did eventually turn out to be a goalless stalemate, Albirex started brightly and came close in the third minute when Sho Kamimura fired in a snapshot from the edge of the area but thankfully for the hosts, Vikraman was on hand to head clear before it could trouble Rudy Khairullah.
Gombak's rookie goalkeeper was eventually called into action in the 17th minute when Masatake Sato broke down the right and curled in a good cross, punching the ball away before the dangerous Yasuhiro Yamakoshi could pounce.
The Bulls then had their first sighting of goal 11 minutes later when Vikraman cleverly slipped the ball through the legs of Atsushi Shimono before charging forward and sliding an incisive pass to Julien Durand. Unfortunately for the hosts, the Frenchman could only sent a 20-yard drive wide of Ito's goal.
Nonetheless, it was mainly Albirex who showed the greater attacking intent and right on the half-hour mark, Kamimura skipped past a challenge on the edge of the area before drilling a shot straight at Rudy, before Sato tried his luck from distance two minutes later with a 25-yard freekick that was just side of the bottom corner.
11 minutes after the break, Yamakoshi was almost presented with a chance again when Kamimura found space down the left and drilled in a low cross that was missed by Rudy, but Walid Lounis was alert to the danger and hooked the ball away with a sliding clearance before the opposition striker could pounce.
However, the visitors' hopes of grabbing all three points were then deal a blow 15 minutes from time when Sato received his marching orders after picking up a second yellow, and Gombak almost took the lead a minute later when Vikraman's first-time volley from the left wing looked set to creep into the top corner before Ito's spectacular intervention.
From then on, it was the Bulls who looked the likelier of the two sides to find a winner thanks to their numerical advantage and Durand wasted a decent chance in the 77th minute, when he was picked out inside the box by a corner from Vikraman but sent a bullet header just over.
A minute from time, the hosts carved out one final attempt at goal when Ismail Yunos bombed forward from his right-back position and let fly from 35 yards, but despite taking a tricky bounce right in front of goal, Ito managed to gather cleanly, leaving both sides to settle for a share of the spoils.
