Having had a week off due to the bye, the Protectors head into Saturday's game at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium recharged and rejuvenated following their 3-0 win over Harimau Muda in their last outing.

However, they will be aware that only two teams have defeated Vjeran Simunic's charges on home soil this season, although they do have an excellent record against Vjeran Simunic's charges.

The last time both sides met in the league, Frederic Mendy scored the only goal of the game in the third minute to hand Home a 1-0 win, while they also defeated their opponents by the same scoreline when they faced off in the first round of the RHB Singapore Cup back in May.

Nonetheless, DPMM got their revenge in the quarter-finals of the Singapore League Cup three months later when they eliminated Lee Lim-saeng's men on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

Elsewhere on Saturday, SAFFC will be looking to warm up for their Singapore Cup semi-final clash against Gombak United when they travel to Hougang United, and Warriors coach Richard Bok admits he will select his side based on his players' performance against the Cheetahs.

"All the players are eager to play in the semi-finals but we just have to wait and see what happens," he said.

"We've got Hougang first, one more game to see if there are any changes to be made. We just have to work hard, train hard and hopefully perform in the two semi-finals."

Gombak themselves are in action on Sunday with a home game against Harimau.

On Wednesday, Albirex Niigata threw the title race wide open with a thrilling 4-3 come-from-behind win over leaders Tampines Rovers, while Courts Young Lions and Tanjong Pagar United played out a 1-1 draw at the Jalan Besar Stadium.

Inclement weather saw both of Thursday's games abandoned, with Harimau leading Balestier Khalsa 1-0 when the match was called off in the 64th minute, while Geylang United were also 1-0 up against Gombak when play was halted in the 67th minute.
