The Warriors came into Friday's game looking to build on last weekend's 4-3 victory over Courts Young Lions and went ahead in the opening minute through captain Daniel Bennett.

Bosnian forward Mislav Karoglan doubled their lead just three minutes later but the Jaguars pulled one back through Takaya Kawanabe in the 67th minute.

Nonetheless, there was to be no denying Richard Bok's charges as Shimpei Sakurada weighed in with another 12 minutes from time to secure all three points.

The defeat and yet another poor defensive display left Tanjong coach Terry Pathmanathan fuming, with the Jaguars boss claiming that he would throw his players out if he had the personnel to replace them.

"I am very disappointed with the performance of my players," he said.

"I am unable to throw them out, we don't have the players. But sometimes to really show you mean business you need to throw them out because game after game it is the same problem.

"Which team allows strikers to roam freely and score except for Tanjong Pager?" he concluded.

In the evening's other match, high-flying Balestier Khalsa were brought back down to earth after they were beaten 3-1 by lowly Geylang United at the Bedok Stadium.

Goals from Rhema Obed and Michael King gave the Eagles a 2-0 lead after twenty minutes, before the Tigers were reduced to ten men after Geylang old boy Syed Thaha received his marching orders in the 40th minute.

Slovak midfielder Jozef Kaplan added a third seven minutes from the end, before Balestier captain Paul Cunningham netted a late consolation in injury-time.

The result sees Geylang, who are steadily improving under new coach V Kanan, move off the foot of the table, leapfrogging Tanjong Pagar and Young Lions into 11th place.
