Still only 18, Niang made 24 appearances for the Rossoneri last term after joining from Caen and scored his first goal for the club in a 3-0 win over Reggina in the Coppa Italia.
And although the talented forward is clearly one for the future, he believes he can start having an impact in the coming campaign.
"I feel perfectly fine in Milan and I want to stay," he told L'Equipe.
"I know what I can bring to the team and I'm not afraid of competition.
"I'll play where the coach asks me. I know I have the capacity to impose myself on the team."
The Frenchman's comments come in the wake of reported interest in his services from a couple of Italian clubs, as well as Barclays Premier League side Newcastle.
