Juventus signed Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorenteto bolster their attacking options, which leaves them with a bloated strikeforce which includes Fabio Quagliarella, Alessandro Matri, Mirki Vucinic and Sebastian Giovinco.
Marotta confirmed that Juve will be looking to offload two of them before the start of the season.
"I will not name names, but at this moment we have six strikers. We need to be left with four," he told Sky Sport.
"We are in the phase of removing excess players from the squad."
Juventus are set to begin their new season on 20 August when they take on Lazio in the Supercoppa Italia before their first Serie A match of the season against Sampdoria.
