A 3-0 win at Bologna in midweek secured Napoli second place in Serie A with two games to spare and Hamsik has already started to look back on a successful season.
"We played a great season," he said. "Second place is an amazing feat.
"There was a time when we thought we could even do better, but Juve deserved to win the Scudetto.
"We dreamed of it for a while, but we got distracted against sides who should have been beatable.
"But second place for us is like the Scudetto."
The future of manager Walter Mazzarri remains unclear, though, with rumours linking him with a move away from the club, despite reaching the Champions League next season.
"He (Mazzarri) is our secret weapon," added Hamsik in Guerin Sportivo magazine. "The fact we have obtained excellent results these years is mainly down to him.
"It's hard to imagine Napoli without Walter Mazzarri. He is one of the best coaches in the world together with Jose Mourinho, Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp."
Opponents Siena have an extra man to help them complete a miracle by avoiding relegation from the top flight.
They are six points adrift of safety with two games remaining and Roberto Vitiello, who was suspended for his part in a match-fixing scandal, is now available to play his part in making that miracle happen.
"The worst thing for me these months, apart from the great personal suffering, is not being able to help my team mates," he said on his club's website.
"I had imagined it would have been different when I came back in and it's a shame.
"We deserved to be in a position to fight for our survival to the very end."
