After losing stars Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the summer, the Rossoneri struggled to put together a winning run at the start of the campaign and found themselves in mid-table mediocrity.
However, the team managed to turn things around in December, before a move for Mario Balotelli in January boosted AC Milan to the upper echelons of the table.
The Rossoneri are now in third place and De Sciglio told Milan News that the club's revival was largely down to one man.
"If we are in this position [in the League] it is because of Allegri," he stated.
"After a complicated start to the season he held the group together and helped us overcome a difficult time."
With rivals Fiorentina just one point behind Milan, the Italian defender advised his team to focus on winning their remaining games in order to secure a place in the Champions League next season.
"We want to hold this position in the table so we can get into the Champions League," De Sciglio said.
"We must not think about Fiorentina – we can only focus on ourselves and try to keep on winning in order to maintain third place."
