With an impressive strike rate of 12 goals in 24 Serie A appearances for Fiorentina this season, Jovetic is widely expected to leave for greener pastures in the summer.
Chased by Premier League sides Manchester City and Arsenal, the Montenegrin recently told English newspaper The Sun that he was tempted by a move to the Emirates Stadium.
However, Toni told ANSA that Jovetic was better off choosing a side like City rather than Arsenal, as he believed his team-mate deserved to play for one of England's biggest clubs.
"I tell him to think carefully before leaving Florence, as there is an important project here," Toni stated.
"If he has to leave, then make it for a real top club. Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United fit that bill, but Arsenal are not better than Fiorentina."
The Italian, who had successful spells with Bayern Munich and Juventus earlier in his career, also spoke about his willingness to commit his future to Fiorentina.
"We’ll talk about my own contract renewal over the next few weeks," Toni revealed.
"There are no problems for me or the club and I think we’ll resolve the issue within a month."
