Conte aims to be Juve's Ferguson
Juventus manager Antonio Conte has announced his intentions to stay with the club and emulate Sir Alex Ferguson's success at Manchester United.
Conte's arrival at the club in 2011 saw Juventus win the Scudetto for the first time since 2003 and the Bianconeri have continued their successful run this season, leading the Serie A by nine points while also having booked a spot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League against Bayern Munich.
The Juventus manager was at an award ceremony when he saw a large banner that read: ‘Ferguson-Manchester United = Conte-Juventus', and commented on it in his award speech.
"I will try," he was quoted as saying by Football Italia,"I will try to remain for all that time to achieve many victories and get closer to such an extraordinary and legendary personality as Sir Alex Ferguson."
"When my journey with Juventus is finished, then I will want to challenge myself abroad, but I hope that day is a long way away.
"The Juventus fans don't need to show me their affection. I already know how much they care for me and the team."
Ferguson's 17-year tenure at Manchester United has seen him win 12 Premier League titles, five FA Cups, four League Cups, 10 Community Shields, two Champions League trophies, one Cup Winners' Cup, one UEFA Super Cup, one Intercontinental Cup and one Club World Cup.
