Antonio Conte's men eased into the last eight of the Champions League final on Wednesday, recording 3-0 and 2-0 wins over opponents Celtic over both legs of their Round of 16 tie. The Bianconeri also lead the Serie A table by six points and are primed to retain their league title.

Speaking to the club's official website, Buffon explained that the team's strength centred on their strong grasp of Conte's tactics and style.

"Our strength is having a tactical awareness and level that we didn’t have before. This allows us to go anywhere and play our game. You can win or lose, but in the toughest moments, the group has an extra weapon to call on: our playing style," he stated.

"We always look to impose our style of play but in previous Champions League campaigns we may have relied too heavily on individuals. But by sticking to game plan, you actually allow players to shine even more."

The 2006 World Cup winner pointed out that Juventus had made plenty of progress in a relatively short period of time and he hoped for a little bit of luck to push them through to their goals this season.

"We are into the last eight which is no mean feat when you think that that just 15 months ago we finished seventh in Serie A for the second year in a row," Buffon said.

"You need a lot of luck to go all the way - just look at this week’s Manchester United-Real Madrid game, where one incident allowed the Spaniards to progress."

Juventus travel to Bologna for their Serie A fixture this Saturday.
